Our students recently visited the Martin Wickramasinghe Museum, the Galle Fortress, and the St. Mary’s Church in Matara as part of an educational tour. Such experiences are invaluable, as they take learning beyond the classroom and bring history, culture, and heritage to life.
At the museum, students explored the legacy of one of Sri Lanka’s greatest writers, while also gaining an understanding of traditional village life. The Galle Fortress offered them a fascinating look at colonial history and architecture, and St. Mary’s Church revealed the beauty of religious art and cultural diversity.
These tours not only strengthen academic knowledge but also encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and appreciation of our nation’s heritage.
