Assemblies – Building Confidence & Character
At Golden Bridge International College, our assemblies are held four mornings a week and serve as a vital platform for students to grow in confidence. Whether it’s a class, club, or subject area presenting a sketch, delivering a thought-provoking presentation, or organizing an engaging game, every student gets the opportunity to step forward. From our youngest learners to our senior students, each child takes part in assembly at least once a term, ensuring they become comfortable speaking, performing, and presenting in front of an audience. For us, it’s not just about stage presence—it’s about fostering courage, teamwork, and leadership in every student.
Life Studies – Learning Beyond the Classroom
In our Senior School, we are proud of our Life Studies program, where each week, students gain valuable insights from guest speakers representing diverse fields. From ambassadors, UN officials, and business leaders to Sri Lankan MPs, authors, and sports personalities, our students interact with individuals who inspire them to think big and act with integrity. These sessions open their minds to real-world issues, motivate them to become active contributors to society, and teach them that leadership is about service, not status.
Theme Days – Embracing Culture & Diversity
We believe that great leaders respect all cultures, and our Theme Days reflect this philosophy. Students are encouraged to dress in their national or traditional attire, turning our college into a vibrant display of cultural pride. Flags from around the world are paraded, and greetings are shared in multiple languages, teaching students the beauty of diversity and the importance of global harmony. Beyond cultural celebration, events dedicated to IT and Science experiments—help students explore innovation and critical thinking in a fun, hands-on way.
Respect for Nature & Traditions
Golden Bridge International College is committed to nurturing students who respect nature, honor traditions, and value all religions equally. Festivals from every major religion are celebrated through assemblies and activities, ensuring our students grow up understanding and appreciating different beliefs. A highlight of the year is our Avurudu Festivities, where students enjoy traditional New Year food, costumes, and games like kotta pora (pillow fights) and bunnis kema (eating buns without hands)—reminding them of the joy of cultural heritage and community.
Small Classes, Big Impact
As the only college in Sri Lanka to accommodate just 9 students per classroom, we make a significant investment to ensure personalized attention and a nurturing environment for every child. This approach is financially challenging, but we believe it is essential to truly shape future citizens of character. At Golden Bridge, we do not simply teach—we mold compassionate individuals and genuine leaders who will serve their country with honesty, respect, and dedication.
